Stationery has always been one of my little weaknesses ✨. I just can’t resist all the pens and notebooks lined up by size and color, it makes my heart so happy!
Last summer, I bought some beautiful papers and envelopes to share with the women I accompany, to inspire them to create their own positive affirmations. When I walk alongside you as a doula, I usually suggest a few, but what truly matters to me is that you are the one who writes, chooses, and decides which words resonate with your journey.
Back then, I only bought 7 sets, thinking it would take me a long time to use them, that I would still have plenty left by Christmas. I didn’t imagine how many women I would be sharing with.
But my wise sister told me: “Buy more. Don’t be the one to set your own limits.”
And here I am, almost a year after starting this path of serving beautiful mamas in the Netherlands, ready to go back to that little shop and buy more paper and envelopes filled with magic ✨

By now, you’ve probably heard about the rebozo.
Yes, I’ve also seen the videos showing how it can be used during labor, to ease muscle tension, help position the baby, or offer support. But its use goes far beyond birth. For me, it’s been a true discovery.
It’s not just a tool. Not just a piece of fabric.
It’s a way of caring.
The rebozo is a cotton cloth woven by the hands of Mexican artisans, who have been supporting women for generations, through their cycles, motherhood, birth, postpartum...
And the most beautiful part? It embraces both body and soul.
The rebozo relaxes, supports, adjusts, and contains.
And if you allow it, it will gently caress your story.
I’ve been lucky to learn from beautiful, generous women, Laura @tudoulaencasa, Fany @fannyjipe and Fern @fern.herbalistdoula Denys @denys.casaarcoiris Cris @cbsfisio2021 , who have shown me, with their hands, how this cloth can become an extension of the heart.

The Way We Speak to Ourselves Matters
The words we use and how we express ourselves make a difference. Speaking kindly to ourselves creates a sense of well-being and even releases oxytocin—one of the key hormones for labor and birth.

Climbing the hill with my baby on my back after a long day at the beach, a woman stopped and offered me her respect.
Was it for carrying him close? For wanting to show him the world?
So many women share with me their fear of not being able to return.
To who they were.
To what once brought them joy.
But how do we return to someone we no longer are? Is there even a place, or a self, to go back to?
Mothering slows you down.
It teaches you to breathe differently.
To adapt.
The early months of postpartum are raw. A dance of survival, learning, and juggling.
Becoming a mother is a journey, one that asks for awareness, acceptance, self-love, and open arms.
It’s about welcoming change.
Finding balance between the new version of you, your baby’s needs, and your own.
For me, walking into the wild still feels like a calling.
It’s how I stay connected to my essence, to the freedom I used to chase in faraway places.
Now I go with him.
I make space for both: the new, and the part of me that still seeks for open skies.
Adapting doesn’t mean forgetting ourselves.

Lately, I’ve been asked this question that has led me to reflect.
Some doulas are called to this path through the transformative journey of motherhood. Others arrive through a calling to hold space, to witness, to serve.
